After years of amusing and amazing Valley guests, Ripley’s Believe It or Not!® at Arizona Boardwalk is ending its exhibition in Scottsdale. The offbeat and outrageously fun attraction will say farewell on Sunday, August 3, giving curious visitors just a few more weeks to experience its astounding collection of the strange, surprising, and seriously unbelievable.
This final stretch includes a last hurrah with Hair Raising: The Unruly World of Strands — a new exhibit that debuted earlier this summer which features a bizarre and fascinating exploration of all things hair-related, from weird beauty rituals and cultural oddities to record-breaking feats that will truly make heads spin!

Hair Raising features more than a dozen follicle-focused displays straight from Ripley’s global collection, including:
- Hoss the Human Hairball – Tipping the scales at over 225 pounds, this Guinness World Records holder is made from the hair of more than 3,000 people—and guests can even add a strand or two of their own!
- Locks from Legends – A rare and intimate look at hair from Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, The Beatles, JFK, and other cultural icons.
- Hair Trousers & Jewelry – It’s true, pants made of human hair and giraffe-hair jewelry believed to offer good fortune.
- Victorian Mourning Wreaths & Animal Hairballs – Equal parts eerie and educational, these natural and historical oddities give new meaning to “hairy situations.”
- Micro Art on Hair – Simply incredible; a tiny clown balancing on a single strand of hair—seeing is believing.
“This is one of the most unique and conversation-starting exhibits we’ve ever hosted,” said Ran Knishinsky, Managing Partner at Arizona Boardwalk. “It’s the perfect grand finale for Ripley’s here in Scottsdale.”
In addition to Hair Raising, guests can explore the full Ripley’s Believe It or Not! attraction, jam-packed with hundreds of amazing artifacts, oddities from the animal kingdom, pop culture memorabilia, and unbelievable but true stories from around the globe. From interactive games and photo ops to hands-on wonders for both kids and adults, Ripley’s is a can’t-miss adventure in the heart of Scottsdale.
As summer comes to a close, and before school begins, don’t miss a final chance to explore this wildly weird world with family or friends before it disappears from Arizona!
